Terms of Service
These terms govern your use of Holotext — the Holotext apps for Mac and iPhone, holotext.ai and the service behind them. Holotext is operated by Jakub Bareš (“Holotext”, “we”, “us”). By signing in, you agree to these terms and to our Privacy Policy.
1. The service
Holotext indexes the sources you connect — for example Gmail, Google Drive, Notion and folders and apps on your Mac — and answers your questions from them, with references to where each answer came from. You can also lend a part of your indexed context to other Holotext users.
Holotext is in early access. Features may change, and the service may be interrupted or discontinued. We will tell you in advance, where we reasonably can, before discontinuing it.
2. Your account
- Holotext is invite-only. You sign in with your Google account and must be at least 16 years old.
- Keep access to your devices and Google account secure; you are responsible for what is done with your Holotext account.
- Only connect accounts, files and data that you are entitled to access and to have processed this way — including data that belongs to your employer or to other people.
3. Your content
Everything you connect, and the questions you ask, remain yours. You give Holotext permission to copy, store, process and index that content, and to send it to the service providers named in the Privacy Policy, only as needed to provide the service to you and to the people you choose to share with. This permission ends when your content is deleted.
When you share part of your context, the people you share with can see answers drawn from it until you revoke the share. You are responsible for what you choose to share.
4. Answers are generated by AI
Answers are written by AI models from your own data and may be incomplete or wrong. Check the cited sources before relying on an answer, especially for legal, medical, financial or other important decisions.
5. Acceptable use
Do not use Holotext to:
- access, index or share data you have no right to, or break the law or anyone's rights;
- try to reach another person's data, get around access controls, or probe or disrupt the service;
- reverse engineer the service, except where the law allows it;
- send spam or harmful content, or use the service to harm others.
6. Third-party services
Holotext connects to services run by others, such as Google, Notion and Apple. Your use of those services is governed by their own terms, and their availability is outside our control. You can disconnect any of them at any time.
7. Ending your use
You can stop using Holotext at any time and ask us to delete your data as described in the Privacy Policy. We may suspend or end your access if you break these terms, or if we discontinue the service; where we can, we will give you notice and time to request your data.
8. Disclaimer
Holotext is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose, to the extent the law allows. We do not guarantee that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that every item in your sources will be indexed.
9. Limitation of liability
To the extent the law allows, Holotext is not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential damages, lost profits or lost data, and our total liability for any claim relating to the service is limited to the amount you paid us for it in the twelve months before the claim, or EUR 100 if you paid nothing. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, or your rights as a consumer.
10. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. We will change the date at the top, and tell you in the app or by email before a material change takes effect. If you keep using Holotext after that, the new terms apply.
11. Law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Czech Republic, without prejudice to the mandatory consumer protection rules of the country where you live.
